Metro Film Society Kochi started functioning in September 2007 to enhance awareness, accessibility and understanding of cinema as an art among a broad and diverse film going audience.

Mission

• Regular Screening of World Classics and contemporary films including Indian and Malayalam Films, Short, fiction, Animation and documentaries. The screening will be followed by discussions about the film.

• Organizing Film Festivals of Feature Films, Short Films, Animation Films and Documentaries

• Introducing new filmmakers of Malayalam and other languages by screening their films and creating platform for interaction with the audience.

• Gathering and discussion at Movie Houses

• Holding academic sessions on cinema including workshops on film studies in schools, colleges and other institutions
